Fox News and Tucker Carlson, who hosted the network’s highly rated 8pm weeknight show, have severed ties, the network said in a shocking announcement today (Monday.)
The announcement comes a week after Fox News settled a huge defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million over the network’s dissemination of election lies.
Fox News said that Carlson’s last show was Friday, April 21.
As of 11:45am, Carlson has not immediately responded to media requests for comment.
Update at 12:07am – From Fox News:
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” a FOX News Media spokesperson said in a statement.
An interim program, “Fox News Tonight,” will air at 8 p.m. ET until a permanent replacement for Carlson is named. “Fox News Tonight” will be hosted by a rotation of various Fox News personalities.
This is a developing story.
