Join the Conversation … Or Better Yet, Help Create Them
If you are interested in writing for DCReport, please read these guidelines first.
We are interested in investigative reporting that democratizes journalism about the policies, politics, and events that affect our everyday lives and futures.
We are interested in single articles and investigative reporting series. We are also interested video commentary, political cartoons and other creative media that can tell the stories that matter to you and your community. We are looking to break new ground, contribute to the national debate, and empower our readers so they can take action and make their voices heard.
Subjects can be local, statewide, or national – as long as they feel fresh, relevant, and have nationwide significance.
We expect you to follow core investigative principles of diligent reporting, fact-checking, and fairness. Please adhere to AP style guidelines.
Although most of our writers are volunteers, small honorariums are available on a limited basis when funding allows. These range from $50 to $100, depending on various factors, and we hope to increase those if proper funding is secured. Any writer receiving an honorarium, must be providing content that has not been previously published and will not be published elsewhere for at least 90 days.
Before making any submissions, please query our managing editor, Tod Hardin, at [email protected].
