I’m a journalist, storyteller, connector, and globetrotter whose career interests surround identity, community and culture. I enjoy passing others the mic so that they feel heard, and I'm always looking for ways to help people tell their own stories.
Before becoming host of Rooted at GBH News, I was host of GBH’s Morning Edition and WBUR and NPR’s Consider This podcast. Through Pariscope Productions, which I founded in 2024, I offer emcee and host/moderator services, event production consulting, and individual and group voice and storytelling coaching. I also teach a creative communication course at Boston College.
I have worked extensively with print, digital, video, audio, and social media. I am known to succumb to wanderlust often, which has awarded me unforgettable storytelling experiences in Southeast Asia, Morocco, Panama, Cuba, and Brazil.
For me, it’s about elevating voices that are often overlooked. I approach storytelling the same way I would conversation with a friend or small talk with a stranger, because I find that those everyday interactions can often lead to big revelations. I believe in the power of storytelling to connect us with one another, no matter what obstacles are present.
