Yesterday, Six Americans Were Murdered by Another Gun-toting Maniac
130.
To date, we have had 130 mass shootings so far this year. A mass shooting is a shooting where at least four people are shot.
Now, do you wanna get sick?
Based on the data collected over the past seven years, it is fair to estimate that America will have another 500 mass shootings this year.
500.
That’s at least another 2000 Americans getting shot this year. Many of those will die. Many will be children. No doubt, many will be children in a classroom somewhere. Someone out there reading this right now may be the victim of one of these 500 mass shootings, or the parent of one of those children who will be murdered in their classroom.
Murdered in their classroom.
This isn’t speculation. This isn’t a fear tactic. This is a simple analysis of the past to suggest what we can expect in the very near future.
Your future.
Today, after you kiss your family goodbye, and watch the kids get on the school bus, know that you may never see them again. Know that of those 6,000 children and teens who are murdered, one of them may be yours.
Thoughts and Prayers.
At the end of this year of murder and mayhem in our nation’s classroom, how many times will some politician have said “thoughts and prayers” are being sent for the families of those who suffered a loss?
How many guns will be sold to some maniac with a mental health issue only so he can murder your child more easily?
How many classrooms, or McDonald’s, Wal-Marts, churches, gay dance clubs, or any other place be splattered with blood before we have had enough?
Will we never grow tired of the murder?
For those sending ‘thoughts and prayers” I say stuff ’em: your thoughts and prayers haven’t saved one single life. If you are telling us to pray, that suggests you have faith in some god to ease the pain, but statements like that don’t ease the pain. Statements like that only show your pretend concern or your ignorance of your own Bible. Have you never read…
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
James 2:17
If you believe in your God, why haven’t you acted? God requires your action to make His hand move, so the “thoughts and prayers” you send mean nothing to those who grieve. In fact, they show clearly that you serve not the God of heaven, but the god of the gun: the NRA.
NRA: Not Real Americans.
When politicians permit murder in our schools, when they permit the ongoing bloodbath in America brought about by the prevalence of easy gun access, they demonstrate that guns are more important than the lives of our children. And that makes me sick. And angry.
Guns are the new slavery: politicians claim to hate the harm caused, but refuse to act to end it. We fought a war over the issue of slavery, and it took more than 100 years after that war to give Blacks their full American rights. We could outlaw guns today, but it would take another 100 years to get them all out of our society.
But wouldn’t that make sense? To remove the 400 millions guns in the hands of Americans that are killing more children each year than any other thing?

Is it not worth the life or every child to rid ourselves of these murder machines?
I’ve made plenty of arguments about the Second Amendment, and can easily convince any reasonable person of who the Constitution empowered to possess a gun, but that’s not who we are today. Today, we are a nation beholden to the NRA and it’s murdering gun violence. They endorse the theory that guns in the hands of everyone makes us more safe, which we all know is a crock of craziness.
Do we care about our children or our guns — we can’t love both.
Do we want our communities to be safe, our police to be able to maintain law and order, or do we want to turn every neighborhood into a shooting gallery? Because that is where we are headed.
We have convinced ourselves — based on the LIES of the NRA and the politicians who love taking their blood money — that guns are a civilian right in this nation: they are not, regardless of what the bought-and-sold Supreme Court has ruled.
Take money out of the equation, and sensible people would get rid of guns in a New York minute.
Put money into the equation, and you’ll have more guns, and more mass shootings, and more dead children in our classrooms.
America has chosen GREEN over Red. Money means more than blood.
Will that Dollar Save Your Child From the Bullet, Senator?
When will we, as a nation, recognize the sickness we have brought on ourselves, a sickness that we could end today, not with “thoughts and prayers” but with meaningful action?
It is time our members of Congress end the plague of murder in America.
Or face the consequences of their negligence.
